Summer Sun at Mockingbird Hill
Summer is coming on strong here at Mockingbird Hill. The raised beds have been weeded with the help of some great woofers from all over the country, Louisiana, Rhode Island, PA, New York, DC, Ohio and Florida, all since January. We embarked on some tasks that were well overdue as well as new ones that “just seemed to be the right time to get it done”.
Woofers and Harvest Host Helpers pitched in and prepared raised beds for planting, raised fencing, moved chickens, gathered pine straw and hay for mulching, delivered baby goats, mucked their stalls and gave shots and a host of other small tasks as well as demolishing a 100 plus year old structure, cleaning up after, moving 300 pound boulders and laying a brick patio.
These pictures illustrate only a smidgen of the hard work these guys put out during this winter. We appreciate their help and hope they learned some basic skills as well.
